August Rush is an easy Sunday movie, not the big challenge, nor the optimal cast with Keri Russell (Lyla Novacek) and Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Louis Connelly) as the parents of splendid Freddie Highmore (August Rush). But yet it is a movie of great content, espesially for those of us looking for a quick romance a Sunday evening. The movie has an emotional touch for creatives and artistic people, and if you’re a music lover like me – your about to get sold. I love this movie for day where I don’t want any friction at all.

Stand against the crowd, be your own star

and stop bullying by not participating…

I came over Amanda Todd’s story earlier this week, but have been too busy with my work and handling the children this week. I’m the kind of person who really need time to sit down and digest people’s stories and emotions – I can’t just absorb it in the rush though everyday’s routines and then move on. Finally I found the time to watch her little film on Youtube (attached), and I’m deeply affected and crying. I wish I could’ve been there for her – and if there are other boys or girls struggling similar situations please if you need me – I’m here. I understand Amanda so well, and I know how cruel especially teenagers can be. We all can be cruel. And mostly we’re cruel because we’re weak. Too weak to stand against the crowd, and stand for our true meanings and affections. I’m sure many of us has done mistakes like Amanda, but Amanda came over the wrong people while she was playing a dangerous game many adventurous people have the need to play.

I wonder why we people tend to believe that some are better than others – and too often we get stunned by fame, beauty and popularity not acknowledging that most glorious surfaces are manmade either through Photoshop, makeup, branding, media and the crowd – even social media. It IS important to be aware of how unreal (fake) facebook, blogs and other social media are. Why I mention this in this occasion? Because I believe that no one saw the real Amanda Todd, and because I think that social media and media in general participated in creating a “fake” reality around her. As I understand her story the crowd teamed up and bullied her, and the leader of it all followed her everywhere. You would think that social media encourage people’s independence and originality – because this is my opinion; these are the people who get the most “likes” and become local heroes. But obviously I’m wrong. The entire liking is an easy way to “vote” for or against something/someone, but it would be far more difficult if we only could comment. I even take my self in how fast I can rush through the newsfeed and throw some likes – but ones I comment something I have to think twice.

I hope everyone will be more clever in how they socialize in media, and think twice before you like an opinion especially when it has to do with other people. And think about all the mistakes you your self did, and how lucky you were that no one blew it up on facebook. And decide if you want to be a friend. Decide if you want to be a real person – at least as real as it’s possible in a fake world…  I’m a great fan of social media and believe that for instance facebook spreads love, wisdom and unit people from all over the world. It inspires to be a good person and even the better version of one self – but of course it will always be the fake part of it. It’s all edited. Even from me, I wont let an ugly photo of my self, pass though – I mean why should I? And sometimes I’ll even fix it. I will post the good things I do for my children on facebook, but of course not the times I’m a true angry bird, bitch or crappy moody mom. Point is still in this case, that “fake” has become a sneaking reality through social media and media – and the danger of it is that we don’t realize that it’s there – but it is. And then you have those who can’t escape and fake the reality, because the mistake keeps following them – like in Amanda Todd’s case.

I hope my little post can make all who reads it think about these words, think about Amanda Todd, and remember that there are so many Amanda Todd’s out there – maybe there are some Amanda Todd’s you can reach out to? And I also hope all of us can try to think further next time we post a picture of our children, or we post pictures from a party with the mates at school… and other situations that can endanger our loved ones, others or our selves. Be a good friend, maybe you don’t believe in angels – but be a certain someone who will give a helping hand next time and be a helping and LOVING heart. Maybe you’re too busy… I know – I’m a single mom, but no one’s too busy to save someone from a living hell like the one Amanda suffered. God, I wish I knew her and could’ve been there for her.

I think that if everyone respected one another for the choices they took, and respected one another for the persons they are – we would all be more at ease. But respect is a human value I see less and less of in our society. I take my self in it. Sometime I react without any reason or right, but then I try to talk my self out of my reaction – his choice/her choice/differences are good/let people be who they are if they don’t fit in with me – ok, I don’t need to have so much to do with them anyway/ouch, I know I did that mistake once – man I’m glad I didn’t get caught like that… /is this a person who’s screaming out for attention – can I help? etc.

Amanda Todd was crying for help. In fact, she was screaming out for help and I wonder why no one heard her. Or maybe someone did – but couldn’t/wouldn’t go that extra mile to help her out…

I know about another teenager who got seriously bullied in the Norwegian school and on facebook – but she is a girl who is impressively strong and managed to pick up the fight (not assuming that Amanda Todd wasn’t strong or that she didn’t have a family, mother and father who didn’t supported her. I’m sure she had. But bullying is severe, massive and haunting.) and managed to team up against the bullying crowd. Because in general, once people really realize what they’re participating in, they don’t want to be a part of an action like what happened to Amanda Todd.

RIP Amanda Todd

The Cold Autumn Rain must have

Washed Away My Tears

I’ve noticed that it’s not only me. There are so many. Feeling the notions of autumn falling one by one in front of ones feet like a leaf in grief. It can be cold, cruel and empty. The need of sleep, comfort and the company of someone appear like a small boy or girl crying for help. But we don’t. We’re grown-up, responsible and successful. We keep our head up high and hide behind a cashmere scarf and a pair of shades. Whenever that particular what-ever-ache we feel inside knocks on our door we just smize our eyes and look another way hoping that it will go away. Keeping the light and sunny memories of the summer, remembering the deep blue sea washing over our bodies – and the sand from the beach restoring our energy level. Lazy and satisfied turning around, like a lion having devoured its prey.

Know that the gust of grief and empty feelings are not cruel, harsh or even death it’s self, knocking on your door – it’s just another fall – natures own detox remedy. Throwing all the old to restore and rediscover the new you… that is, of course, if you choose to welcome this beautiful season which is deeper, more content and less shallow than the season called summer.

How romantic isn’t it taking a stroll in a park, with a red umbrella and sweet cheeks – holding your best friend close into your arms, while the leafs are falling and playing their way down in front of your green Wellingtons? The colors emerge within in you and the contrasts are dramatic as only nature it’s self can paint…

How lovely isn’t it to read a book, cuddle into a soft quilt, listen to some classical music or even opera, drink a cup of tea and lean back. Letting those memories of the sweet summer even get more beautiful than what they actually were, encouraging new dreams, plans, wishes… another love?
