DON'T FAIL YOUR DREAM - YOUR DREAM DEPENDS ON YOU

I posted the picture below on Instagram yesterday, and the words I wrote inspired this blog post. "This pictures is taken at Koufonisia last summer with my son swimming in the sea. Today with Google, Instagram and all, it’s really easy to find these places. I think a very important part of finding beautiful destinations and to establish that deep connection is the journey of discovering your own piece of heaven."

A FERRY TICKET, BIKINI & MY BACK PACK

Twenty years ago the name of this Island was handed to me on a sheet of paper with the message: Don’t ask, just go!". I found a boat ticket and went out on my discovery. I had no expectations… just a backpack, my bikini and my camera. This small piece of harmony, with its' crystal clear waters and small town vibes really caught my attention. If you go to Koufonisia I'm sure you'll like it. I love this island from the bottom of my heart, but like all the Greek islands, not all the islands are for everyone. Simply because they all represent different cultures, vibes and things to do. Meaning; it DEPENDS ON YOU - what makes your heart stop? What are you looking for?

As I'm sharing my personal stories and my travel pages on this blog - I think this it's really important for everyone to understand this.

Wether you're chasing a dream, making plans for the summer or preparing your wedding - you have to be sure what YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. So... What is your dream?

Once you get there knowing in your heart what sets your heart on fire - I can guarantee you - IT IS possible for you to reach your dream, goal or destination! Most lightly - it's not going to be easy - but when you find your self on your journey, you're half way there.

IF YOU CAN DREAM IT, YOU CAN DO IT!

- Walt Disney

You might not believe it, but one of my role models are Walt Disney. If you know his story, and the symbol of strength that Mickey Mouse originally is about - you know what I'm talking about. Mickey Mouse was that small spark of hope for Walt - Mickey was the spark of Walts' dream that made an impact on all of us (and will continue to have an impact on future generations). Walt said; If you can dream it, you can do it. And you got to believe a guy who started the Laugh-O-Gram Studio in the 1920's when every thing was pretty dark and impossible prior to the great depression.

BE YOU - EVERYONE ELSE IS TAKEN

Personally I didn't do anything that great yet, but I feel pretty awesome and great about the things I do. When the time is right I will do the right impact on people who needs me and my abilities. One really important thing is to find peace with your self (not meaning lazy!) and start where you are. You gotta have the right intensions.

The intension of doing something great in it self isn't going to make a difference.

If you take a look at the picture of my daughter and I; Spending those moments in Greece was a pretty great dream at the time. Not to be too personal, but at that time I was very fragile.

IF YOU EVER HIT THE FAN BEFORE, YOU KNOW HOW HUMILIATING IT IS TO WALK THOSE STEPS, GETTING YOUR LIFE BACK ON TRACK AGAIN

As you know by now - I deep down inside LOVE GREECE - but for seven years I didn't have the chance to travel to Greece. Truth is I was pretty poor and alone at the time. Going to Greece that summer was pure insanity. But I just had to considering that we have close relatives in Greece. The dress you can see in the picture... I bought it the first year I was pregnant in 2006, it had great stretch (which was convenient for my pregnant womb) and I could use it many different ways. The hat is a 10 euro hat I found at the port of Syros, and the flip flops belongs to my son. Leo and I would switch between sneakers and this one pair of 7€ flip flops - even though sneakers are much too warm for the Greek summer. (There's nothing wrong about 10 € hats or 7 € flip flops - just trying to be transparent here). The thing is that I put my self in a very difficult situation years before. If you ever hit the fan before, you know how difficult and humiliating it can be to step-by-step build your life again. Thanks to the Universe, angels and that we were surrounded by family and friends (who loves us!), we got massive help to build our life from that year and ahead (Grateful!).

THIS WAS MY "MICKEY MOUSE" - MY SPARK TO TRUST THAT "I WILL MAKE IT"

The story is that ever since that summer we traveled back to Greece. We got that spark of belief and trust to move forward. This trip was my "Mickey Mouse" - my first spark of hope and strength to find my dream again! I'm still working day and night to fight for this life - but this is me chasing and achieving my goal! So I guess, you can call it a forced choice.

That summer we just WANTED to go to Greece more than anything, but truth was that it was impossible to make it. I'm sure you know... those four magical words; "If I just could.." - making every cell in your body twist and turn. Yup! Believing, hoping, trying, fixing, connecting, evaluating - daring to ask, check and try! That's exactly the place I were.

WITH SOME POSTIVIE ATTITUDE, PATIENT KIDS & A BACKPACK

We found the very cheapest flight tickets (with the longest and most inconvenient journey - but we didn't care! It made it possible!). It was summer time, so we didn't need many clothes. Besides; the summer only requires small garments - right? It was easy! I could fit all our small clothes into my one single backpack. I remembered the pleasure of enjoying the simple things - a slice of bread from the bakery with some majo and a slice of Greek tomato (Delicious! In fact, they have the BEST tomatoes in the whole wide world)!

This was the summer I discovered how easy it is to travel when you have one single goal: Summertime Guaranteed (The sun doesn't always shine in Norway during summer, so this is a thing). The goal for the summer was to enjoy our simple adventures, a beach and LOTS OF SUN. Thank God for Booking.com and Hotels.com with their amazing search engine and filters: Lowest price and Free cancellation! The kids and I had THE BEST summer as we enjoyed simple things as the pasta, pesto and our long duration bread and jam we brought in our backpack from Norway!

This is me, a little bit on the personal side this Sunday in February.

The failure on your path are valuable lessons to collect and learn.

Don't Just Dream It - let's DO IT!

Much love, Sincerely

Jennifer Moi
