If you're looking for sandy beaches, friendly and relaxed people and stunning private bays with clear waters - this island is for you. Ios Island had their prominent days years ago, and has since then cooled off. Something I found surprisingly refreshing when I found my way back after so many years. Simply because I prefer the new cool in Ios.
I prefer chill vibes, delicious smoothies and lazy days on a comfortable bed under a huge cabana - and whenever I want anything at all - it's there on a hint of a wink. At our favorite place, Mylopotas beach, we find all these things and more. Watersports, food, drinks, groceries, flip flops and cool cheap merchandise. And beach parties for those who prefers that.

This island is very similar with Mykonos but without the over crowded beaches and without Mykonos town and Little Venice. Ios island has more uniq beaches and hidden destinations.

These are my preferences influenced by the fact that I'm traveling with kids. And that it's important for us to be in Greece as long as possible every summer - economy is our class. When this is said, we find our way around and do pick luxurious places for a couple of days here and there.
